Beautiful Lake Annis
August 14, 1969

The many friends of Mrs. Morris Abraham, Raynardton, Yarmouth Co., will regret to hear that she is a patient in the Yarmouth Hospital.  Let us send her our sincerest sympathy and our best wishes that before long she will be home again.

Mr. Roland Day of Truro, N.S. has been visiting with the Galen Vickerys in Lake Annis, together with the rest of his family which includes an enormous Newfoundland Madam Mandy who last winter was the proud mother of 9 Newfoundland puppies, and you can rest assured that they were all pretty special, big bouncing pups.  We think she had a right - every right- to special mention.

Mrs. Raymond Hopkins of Halfax was a recent visitor to Yarmouth and enjoyed meeting many old friends in Yarmouth and Carleton.

On Saturday afternoon the 9th annual flower show was held in Lake Annis at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clem Crowell.  there were over 60 guests including a few from Yarmouth.  In spite of the dampish weather it was a great success.  The exhibits were varied and very attractive and showed a great deal of talent and imagination.  Following the judging and the presentation of awards a delicious afternoon tea was served by the ladies of the village together with Mrs. Crowell.
