Comments: I am looking for information on T. S. Harding of Wolfville. He was my greatX3 Grandfather and a baptist minister. He is buried in the cemetery across from the United Baptist church and his house still stands in Wolfville.

Comments: I came across this sight while searching for a receipe for rappi pie (sp?). I visited Yarmouth in the early 70's, when I was living in Mass. and have been trying to find a receipe for the rappi pie ever since. If anyone can help me out, please email. Thanks and I enjoyed this sight.

At one time I had some connection to Yarmouth.  I was married to Laurence Dwight Sabean from 1975 to 1984 when he pased away from heart disease. He was the son of Dwight and Catherine Sabean(Morgan). They are buried in New Tusket in the family plot. Shirley Bradshaw was Laurence's cousin. I miss going to Nova Scotia, it is such a pretty province, and the residents are so friendly.  My girl friend and I went on a cruise from NY to Montreal in Sept. 1990 and had a chance to take a bus tour while in NS. Of course I bragged up the beauty to Margaret. She was able to go to a place she had never been before. 
We had lunch(lobster, of course) at Chester and went to Peggy's Cove and Hubbard. We were unable to continue to Yarmouth as time would not permit.
I remarried in 1993, but still miss the "East coast".

Was hoping to make it down this Christmas to get together 
for a play. I play the fiddle and piano and enjoy sitting in with my father (Ron) and his friends. Hopefully , I can make it next year. 

I have been getting into the recording scene lately and I am really enjoying it. All you folks out there should give it a try some time - capture the memories before they're gone!

The residence you list as the home of the "Fuller Brush Man" is, to the best of my knowledge, the home of my great grandfather, J. Murray Lawson.
I recall visiting Yarmouth many times as a child and having the big blue house on the corner pointed out to me by my father...Murray.

Comments: I am looking for information about my ancesters, John and Sarah Gavel. They were my great-grandparents. My grandfather's name was Lester Sinclair Gavel and my grandmother was Lena May Porter. They met in the Yarmouth Hotel where he worked as a clerk and she as a chambermaid.I am sure someone from Gavelton has some information.             Thank You

Comments: It is with much appreciation that I have visited your website.  I thank you for all your hard work and time that you have dedicated to this site. 
Black Afro-Canadians need to know their roots and that being black is something to be very proud off.  Black people have given much to this world and we must learn to stand tall, lift up our heads and continue to thank GOD every day for our spirituals gifts.  We are a very strong race and we must never forget who we are and what our ancesters gave up for us, as a people.
We must teach our young children to know about their history
and give back to our elders and bring back the respect to our families and our black community. 
Regardless, who we fall in love with, black, white, etc.  We must teach our children that their roots are from the Black man and the Africian culture. 
We need more Love and Support for each other.

Comments: I was born in Yarmouth.
My family left in 1967 when I was about 8 years old.
I still have family back there,
but it is hard to keep up-to-date.
I have the Vanguard on my list of favorites and try to read it once a week.
Let me know if anyone remembers me.
I went to Milton Elementary School
My parents are Sidney and Evelyn(Beulah)(Smith)Skinner.
I remember playing marbles alot with a group of kids but I don't remember their names.
