HI FRIENDS CONNOR AND JOSH!!!
Name: Eric Umstead Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota USA E-Mail: mcumstead@cs.com Comments: A resident of Yarmouth, Edith Amirault (formerly Edith LeBlanc), owns a fruit & vegetable stand in Yarmouth along with her brother. However this, in itself, isn't that important. What IS important is the fact that back in app. July 1971 when I was 16 years old, I took a trip with my parents on a New York Daily News ship to pick up paper rolls. We went from New York City to Bay Comeau, Quebec and were out in the Atlantic Ocean for 3 days. I had made 3 bottles containing a message with my name, age, home address, where we left from, and where we were going. Each day I would throw once bottle overboard in the hope that somebody might find it. In October, 1971 I received a letter back from somebody in Weymouth, Nova Scotia, (I knew NOBODY in Nova Scotia), saying that they had found my #2 bottle. That person was an 11-year-old girl named Edith LeBlanc (now Edith Amirault). Edith & I corresponded back and forth for about two years sending each other school pictures but then lost track of eack other. Today, (November 2, 2002), I was able to locate Edith and we talked on the phone for almost 20 minutes. If any of you are casual acquaintances of her or know the fruit & vegetable stand she and her brother run, visit it and tell her you read this story.

it is.My parents were Adolph and Lena Fitzgerald.I am the third of five
children.Celeste who lives in Musquodobit,Dennis lives in Pembroke Mass.,Louella
lives in New Minas and last but not least Louise who still lives in Yarmouth.I
lobster fished from the (Point) in the seventies with Alton Doucete for
a year and then started with Henry Surette on the (Warren & Greg)for
about seven seasons. We used to live in the last house on the left just
before the (old wharf)which has been torn down for a number of years.I
remember in September we used to go to the wharf when the (sloops)came
in full of herring and we would put the herring in bait barrels for the
start of lobster season in November.I also remember going to the lobster
hole with James ,Joseph ,Stillman Surette ,all brothers.I played and sang
a song that I had written for Equette Doucete (Alton & Charlotte`s
daughters`wedding.Well that`s enough of myself.I tend to ramble on sometimes. What`s
happening on Pinkney`s Point besides lobster fishing which may or may not
start tommorow? Please feel free to E-Mail me anytime! Bye for now!

more honorable than those of Yarmouth Nova Scotia. Rich with history,
and graced with un precendented beauty, it is truly one a the greatest
places on God's Green Earth. Just to walk the rock lined coasts or
to feel the fresh ocean mist, or to watch as the ferry comes in is a memory
of a lifetime.

He worked for Parker-Eakens for 33 years, he also owned a bottle recycling business for quite a few years. It was called J&J Bottles. He loved Yarmouth and he loved its people. He supported the Yarmouth Food Bank every year. He was a wonderful person and we were very lucky to have him in our lives. I will always miss you and never forget you grampy. You were an angle in my life!!!! Though I did not know your grandfather well, I did enjoy
the few chats I had with him. Sorry to hear of his passing.
My sympathy to you and your family.
