in Yarmouth. Kathy worked in a hair salon last we met in Yarmouth
(I think in the mall where K-Mart is/was). Anyone who might know

We don't get much snow out here at all, and no fog that I have seen. Hi to everyone I know who may read this. Date: 2/2/2006 Name: Wendy Location: Yarmouth E-Mail: wendym@staff.ednet.ns.ca Comments: very nice--I love the history of the villages. Time to update the Port Maitland site though--the Canada Factory, to which you give so much time and attention, is long gone. In the history section it says Robert Crosby owns the land of the old school. He has long ago passed away. It would be nice to know exactly what field the school was on. You say the population increased due to the Beaver River fire of 1820.
Did you know that the only house to survive that fire recently burned down?
My aunts told me it was owned at one time by Mrs. Charlie Wyman who used
to publish poems in the Vanguard. It was on the west side of the
road going to Digby and was backed by cranberry bogs which we very productive
about 50 years ago. The house, just before it burned, was unpainted
with blue shutters, and was built into the side of a bank or hill.
It was sad to see it go.

back a lot of memories of growing up and strolling the beach for hours
on end. Water generally too cold to get into, but when the fog held back
you could pick up a good tan on those sands. Lobsters were good cooked
over an open fire with a bunch of teenagers gathered there on late nights
too. Appreciate the memories. Would enjoy hearing from some of those
who remember me or my dad Waldo and mom Goldie at the corner store
when they owned it.

You are right--we should think of this as an electronic newspaper or 'family' newsletter and post often. I enjoy checking to see who has signed in, updates on local news and bits of history people pass on. When I head up Chebogue Road and look across the harbour to the lighthouse I am always sure I have seen the most place on earth. My home gives me the gift of knowing how lucky I am. It is always nice to read who is coming to Yarmouth to visit for the first time, or return again having left a piece of their heart there. The magic in the air calls us back again and again! Their is also a car rental service.

Thank you, LC Webmaster Comment The people to contact can be found at this site ARGYLE TOWNSHIP COURT HOUSE & ARCHIVES Reply: Good MorningWebmaster LeBlanc, I want to thank you so very
much for the quick response to my questions and for the web sites.
Have a great day. It's quite sunny here in Massachusetts today.
We are expecting snow tomorrow. Next summer I fully intend to travel
up to your area and visit the town of Tusket. It's such a pleasure
to find information about our ancesters. My Mother's aunt Bertha
MacQuarrie (I forgot her married name) lived in Digby NS. She was
my Granddad's sister. He had seven sisters. He was the only boy and
if one of the girls did something wrong, he got the spanking! Needless
to say the girls behaved themselves quite well. My Mom told me that.
Regards, Laura B.C.
